Customers Can Choose Preferred Date Format In MBS

Hello & Welcome

It was great to see some of you last week at the Seller Event in Orlando. We’re always excited to meet in person when we can.

If you missed the event, or — too horrible to imagine — didn’t know about it, be sure you’re getting our Monday Morning Bullpen, which includes a roundup of upcoming events and opportunities. Reply directly to this email if you want to be included.

We have some cool stuff in this week’s newsletter. In Tips & New Stuff we cover the dashboards, one of the more vital pieces of your MBS. In Seller Insight we take a look at tired marketing methods and how to bring them into the modern age. And in The World of Amazon we do an analysis of the new Amazon “Our Brand” badge.

Enjoy!

TIPS & NEW STUFF

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about the dashboards in your MBS. Dashboards are what you see when you log in, and they’re incredibly customizable. Perhaps more than you realize.

For starters, you can create multiple dashboards. One may be enough, but you have the option to create as many as you need. You may want to create a separate dashboard for each brand, or each product line, or one for sales info, one for inventory, etc.

Create dashboards to fit your exact needs.

Then, for each dashboard, you have a multitude of possible dashlet types from which to choose. Dashlets are the custom boxes you arrange on each dashboard to display things like sales, payouts and graphs.

Choose to see dashlet graphs of key statistics. See profit and ROI. Select a variety of product groupings, set date ranges, view prior periods.

Like a car or any machine, your dashboard is where you see, at a glance, exactly how your business is performing. Set your dashboards to show exactly what you need to know to manage your Amazon enterprise.

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

Amazon is testing a new “Our Brand” badge for its private label products. Sponsored products ads for Amazon-owned brands now have a label “Our Brand” instead of “Sponsored.” Amazon has also increased the number of sponsored products ads at the start of search results from two to three across all searches.

Results look something like this:

These changes increase exposure for Amazon-owned brands like AmazonBasics as well as making them appear as not ads even though they are …

HUMOR

There was an elderly couple who in their old age noticed they were getting a lot more forgetful, so they decided to go to the doctor. The doctor told them they should start writing things down so they don’t forget.

They went home and the old lady asked her husband to get her a bowl of ice cream.

“You might want to write it down,” she said.

The husband said, “I can remember that you want a bowl of ice cream.”

She then added that she wanted chocolate syrup. “Write it down,” she told him, and again he said, “No, I can remember: you want a bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup.”

So he goes to get it and spends an unusually long time in the kitchen. After about half an hour he comes out to his wife and hands her a plate of eggs and bacon.

The old wife stares at the plate for a moment, then looks at her husband and asks, “Where’s the toast?”
