Hello & Welcome

Welcome to another edition of ManageByStats This Week. August is our anniversary month, and this is our 5th. Five years of working with Amazon sellers, developing software to help them run and, more importantly, expand their Amazon businesses.

It’s been a wild ride.

Those of you who’ve been with us a while know the challenges of keeping up with the changes at Amazon. In that 5 years we’ve not only managed to stay ahead of the curve, we’ve introduced many, many new tools and features, expanding from dozens of users to dozens-of-thousands (is that a word?), covering all Amazon markets with a global presence, being invited to and joining the Amazon Developers Council, partnering with leaders in Amazon seller training, and generally developing a reputation as one of the most comprehensive suites of Amazon tools available, while boasting one of the best customer support teams around.

Thanks for being with us.

We say that a lot, “Thanks for being with us”, but the truth is we consider you, our users, like an extended family. We root for your success, daily, and we’re always looking for ways to help, to make things better, faster, easier, developing or discovering the best solutions for you to grow your Amazon business.

Being with us you’re plugged into an active community of Amazon sellers. We, in turn, are on the lines of a steady flow of information sharing and learning opportunities. MBS is primarily a tool provider, but we believe in the importance of staying up on the latest info when it comes to every facet of selling on Amazon. Our connections are many, and as a result of those connections we’re constantly gauging opportunities to share with you.

To segue a little, each week we put out a weekly roundup of these opportunities, distilled to give you an informative summary, along with quick access should you decide on any you want to take advantage of. It’s called the Monday Morning Roundup, and you may already get it.

If you don’t, and you’d like a chance to peruse these opportunities each week, respond directly to this email, let us know and we’ll get you on the list.

You can always unsubscribe later if you change your mind.

Thanks again for being with us.

Enjoy this week’s newsletter, and raise a toast to 5 years of more victories than defeats.

Here’s to all the great years ahead.

TIPS & NEW STUFF

For those of you using the Keywords Tracker in your ManageByStats, we automatically include the Search Frequency Rank (SFR) for each keyword, which you can choose to sort by, along with three other ways:

  • Keyword Rank
  • Alphabetically
  • Custom

KEYWORD RANK: where your ASIN ranks in search results for that particular keyword.

ALPHABETICALLY: select this option and keywords are arranged in alphabetical order.

SEARCH RANK: Search Frequency Rank (SFR), collected from Amazon. This is where that keyword ranks against all searches done on Amazon.

CUSTOM SORT: drag and drop the keywords into the order you prefer.

If you’re not yet using the Keywords Tracker you can get started for free, up to 10 keywords and a single ASIN, with very reasonable tiered pricing for higher plans above that.

SELLER INSIGHT

What’s the difference between online branding and building authority? Some would consider it the same thing, but in reality it can be two completely different processes. Online branding is a way to get more exposure for your brand on all levels of online marketing, especially search and social.

Building authority takes online branding to the next level by making each online presence for a brand authoritative. It goes beyond just creating a blog or social media account …

THE WORLD OF AMAZON

Amazon has begun inviting third-party sellers to a new program called Sold by Amazon (SBA), describing it as a “new, hands off the wheel selling experience.”

Sellers who sign up to the program give Amazon permission to cut the price of their products at will, in exchange for a guaranteed payout called Minimum Gross Proceed (MGP), to ensure the discounts don’t result in an unexpected loss …

HUMOR

A girl named Darling had a particularly rough childhood because of her uncommon name. She got teased at school. Eventually, she overcame her hang-up and married her high-school sweetheart.

When their first child was born, a girl, she named the girl “Love”, inspired by the same spirit of her unique name.

Unfortunately, Love grew up to endure much of the same teasing Darling did.

One day was particularly bad, and she came home from school furious at her dad, asking why they’d given her such a stupid name.

Dad took the blame to protect his wife and apologized.

In a fit of rage, Love grabbed her toy dart gun, shot him and ran away.

Minutes later, Darling came home and saw her husband wincing in pain.

“What happened?!” she asked, running to him.

He waved her closer and whispered, “Shot with a dart, and you’re to blame. Darling, you gave Love a bad name.”
